First Response Emergency Care - Level 3

FREC Level 3 is designed to train emergency first responders to an enhanced capability above that of a regular First Aid at Work course. The course centres around physical trauma and working in a pre-hospital setting. This course is ideal for those working in high risk environments and the security industry (SIA Approved) .

Overview/Course Content

FREC Level 3 concentrates on providing life saving immediate medical care as a first responder. The course is delivered with a high instructor to student ratio and with an emphasis in hands on training as opposed to PowerPoints and lectures. The course teaches a simple systemic approach to trauma management.

The course and certification is Qualsafe accredited and fulfills the competencies set out by the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in the PHEM Skills Framework to descriptor level D.

  • Scene Safety/Assessment

  • Patient Assessment

  • Catastrophic Bleeding

  • Airway Management

  • Emergency Oxygen Administration

  • Head and Spinal Injuries

  • Basic Life Suport and AED Training

  • Multiple Casualty Management/Triage

  • Casualty Evacuation
